FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NORTH RALEIGH RESIDENTS CONTINUE TO RALLY AGAINST REZONING AS ANOTHER 550 SIGN PETITION TWO WEEKS AFTER MEETING WITH CITY COUNCILOR JOHN ODOM. SIGNATURES NOW TOP 2,850.
Today residents of North Raleigh reached another milestone as their petition to stop rezoning at Dunn and Falls of Neuse gained another 550 signatures to top a total of 2850. This gain follows a meeting two weeks ago with City Councilor John Odom. During that meeting more than 125 citizens attended to express their concerns and opposition to rezoning.
Volunteers intend to continue obtaining petition signatures but will now embark door-to-door distributing flyers and newsletters. Already business cards have been distributed to thousands directing residents to a grassroots website at norchoa.wordpress.com as well as a Facebook page. Recently, this grassroots effort has launched a Twitter account, @protectFalls, and is using every means available to communicate to area residents.
