Tonight the rezoning of Dunn and Falls of Neuse was defeated.  And it was defeated not because the developer withdrew but because the rezoning was out of scale with our neighborhoods, was inappropriate for the watershed, and generated too much traffic for our roads and neighborhood streets.  This has now been stated and voted on by City Council and memorialized for all future rezonings including any remapping of the corner.

Moving forward we hope to engage the land owners and get the land develop in an appropriate manner.

For a little while, though, we are taking a little break.  Not too long.  But a little break.

We are mindful that without all of you, none of this would have been possible.  We, together, are the North Raleigh Coalition of Homeowners.

Thank you!!!

  1. David, Thank you for all your work and expertise. This should be a very valuable lesson for all of us to stay engaged and participate with our civic duties. And don’t forget to VOTE in October!

To David Cox and Tim Niles…..Thanks for the great effort on behalf of so many people. I am amazed by the intelligence, diligence, and persistence you two gentlemen have put forth. The “Iris Guys” of Rocky Toad Road would like to thank you from our hearts. We know what it is like to stand alone against the big boys and be the ones who pay the price of least organized resistance. I know that some of the one’s you represented were also moved by your efforts. I know what you did and can only imagine what it takes. Great job gentlemen and anyone you wish to give credit in your hearts to. Good job, you have my respect,
